It's been awhile since a Geek Week episode has gone out, but absence just makes the heart grow fonder, right? On this episode of Geek Week, I am joined by Aaron of The Big Show (http://www.bigshowradio.com) once again and we discuss what's knew in our gaming lives in addition to reflecting on the year two thousand and eight. Topics include Netflix streaming on the Xbox 360 and TiVo, the future of Blu Ray, why Kevin loves achievements, and our games and movies of the year. If you have a comment for either Geek Week or A Geek and His Wife, please feel free to give us a call at 206-203-5613.

Welcome to the holiday edition of A Geek and His Wife. We have been living up the holiday lifestyle and have been neglecting our podcast audience, but I am sure you can forgive us. Check out this show for the story of the casual holiday season, why we feel like a zoo, hear the Netflix report, Christmas party reviews, and why Kevin is declaring war on El Pollo Loco. All in all, we wish that you all have a happy holiday season, and we will talk to you next in 2009. If you would like to give us feedback, give us a call at 206-203-5613.

No, this isn't a trick, we've actually produced two shows of A Geek and His Wife in as many weeks. We have a special guest on this week's show: ScottyJ of other podcast guest appearances fame. We had a blast chatting with Scott and learning a bit more about him before going into our current television lineup and mock review. Since Scott is a fellow gamer, Kevin has to take the opportunity to discuss his favorite pastime. Be sure to listen to the whole show if you want to hear the juicy bit of gossip we got about Scott's behavior in High School. If you would like to give us feedback, give us a call at 206-203-5613.

Hello Kiddies and welcome to the latest episode of A Geek and His Wife. On this week's show we discuss what's been going on since we last talked. Apparently we should discuss alchohol more often, because that sure spurred our audience to call in. We continue to talk about our alcoholism this week, and we support it by being drunk while recording. You will not be disappointed if you enjoy Heather and Kevin play fighting, but if that bothers you: tough cookies. This episode covers the topics of our last physical guest in our house, a friend's daughter's birthday party, fertility, Xbox, Netflix, and cool websites. If you would like to give us feedback, give us a call at 206-203-5613. Karla's Zazzle account: http://www.zazzle.com/lalloronax3

This evening was a triumph. I'm making a note here: huge success. America has spoken and it has said it wants change. We couldn't agree more and we decide to make a few changes in our show as well. Topics in this show include the recent election results, Kevin's dad visiting, PodCamp AZ, and a few surprises. Our music this week is Your Town by Paul and Storm, and we also got an interesting voicemail from the intrepid duo. If you would like to give us feedback, give us a call at 206-203-5613. You were promised a show, and we have delivered! You would think that with us being "gone" for so long that we would have a lot of stuff to talk about, but not really. We do deliver a solid 1hr show, though. We talk about our 10 year reunion for a good chunk of time along with video game discussions, who we've been hanging out with, and more talk about The Guild. If you would like to give us feedback, give us a call at 206-203-5613.

If you don't follow Heather and me on Twitter, you may have thought we'd passed away. However, the reports of our demise have been exaggerated, and I blame the whole thing on Funyuns. Those things are too tasty to not be hiding some deep dark secret. On this show we go deeper into some of the interesting shiznit that went down in Vegas. Once again, we had a blast hanging out with all our fellow podcasters, and I can only hope there is another expo next year. We also talk about what has been going on since we last recorded a show. Finally, we give a shout out to Felicia Day at The Guild. You can check out her show at http://www.watchtheguild.com or http://theguild.blip.tv. The show comes heavily recommended and I can promise she did not pay us (much) for that link action... If you would like to give us feedback, give us a call at 206-203-5613.

While we were at the New Media Expo in Vegas this year I brought a little portable microphone and recorder so that we could get show IDs from attendees. It also came in handy for making short impromptu recordings of ourselves. This show is comprised of those short recordings while we were in Vegas. We had a blast, and hope you enjoy our show. If you would like to give us feedback, give us a call at 206-203-5613.

Doh! I feel like such an idiot... We did have voicemail that I should have played on our last show. I felt so bad that we went ahead and recorded this addendum show to correct the mistake. We love getting voicemail, and I don't want to discourage people from listening to it. So go ahead and listen to our voicemail along with our responses as well as a rundown of what has happened since we last recorded a show. Thanks! If you would like to give us feedback, give us a call at 206-203-5613.

It's been three weeks and we really don't have a whole lot to talk about. We watched some movies, went swimming, Heather's been sewing, and Kevin's been coding. We think we are prepared for the New Media Expo next week in Las Vegas, but apparently Heather didn't even know it was next week so... We also suggest two very good programs to watch, so be sure to check out Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and Flight of the Conchords Season 1 if you get a chance. If you would like to give us feedback, give us a call at 206-203-5613 or send an e-mail to show@ageekandhiswife.net. Question of the Weeks: What is your favorite summer movie so far? Music: Not Crying by Flight of the Conchords. Kevin's new website: http://www.thewishlistr.com

It's the biggest panel ever on an episode of Geek Week! This may also be the longest Geek Week, clocking in at around one hour and forty minutes. However, we had a lot to talk about. This show is dedicated to discussing the recent announcements out of Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony at the E3 press conference along with our commentary towards these announcements and the direction of the industry and these companies in general. I am joined by Aaron of the Big Show, Jason Tucker from the Tucker Tales podcast, and firstcomer Steve from the Wicked Good Podcast. You can find these shows at http://www.bigshowradio.com, http://www.tuckertales.com, and http://www.wickedgoodpodcast.com. Together we represent all of the major consoles, and I believe you will find an even-handed look at what exactly was announced at E3 thsi year. If you have a comment for either Geek Week or A Geek and His Wife, please feel free to give us a call at 206-203-5613 or visit our website at http://www.ageekandhiswife.net.

Uh oh, Heather's been drinking again... But that makes for a better show, right? ;-) As always, we discuss what we consider interesting things that have been going on since we last recorded a show. This time that includes our recent movie-watching experiences, visiting with Barely of Barely Podcasting, some new, fun music, and much more. This show may be a bit more randy than usual, we apologize for any offense ;-). If you would like to give us feedback, give us a call at 206-203-5613 or send an e-mail.
Question of the Weeks: What is your favorite summer movie so far? Music: Business Time by Flight of the Conchords. |

Oh Boy are you lucky! It is another episode of A Geek and His Wife. Our last show was running long, so we postponed our trivia challenge to show #31 instead of #30. You are going to want to hear this trivia challenge, it has a great twist to it. You can play along at home, too, and then call up to make fun of the questions that Kevin and Heather got wrong. We also talk about our Anniversary celebration and gifts, some free kart racing, and of course your voicemails. If you would like to leave your own message, give us a call at 206-203-5613.

Holy crap, this is hands down the longest episode of A Geek and His Wife ever! We have been gone for a long time and we have a lot to talk about. On this show we cover our entire trip to and through Indiana from our plane taking off from the Valley of the Sun until our flight home. Learn about what goes on in bathrooms at weddings, undersea tours of lake swallowing caves, crazy backwards people, and we even throw some inuendo in for those kinds of people who like it. We recorded this whole show from beginning to end without a break, and we even didn't have time to cover everything. So look for another show soon so that we can do our Trivia Challenge, and also talk about our anniversary celebration. Call in with your questions or comments to 206-203-5613.

You can't get rid of the Geek Week. This week I am joined once again by Aaron and we geek out about all sorts of topics. Amazingly enough we only discuss politics for about 15min, so you can enjoy the rest of the 50 minutes or so politic free. We talk about Aaron's new gaming console and why he has gone to the dark side, we also discuss buying things from stores online, the new "single band" guitar hero games, argue over what Apple's going to announce next week, and finally we end the show with an argument on digital distribution. There's a few more topics mixed in there, but you'll have to listen to get the full scoop. Visit Aaron at http://www.bigshowradio.com and be sure to check out his podcast, The Big Show. If you have a comment for either Geek Week or A Geek and His Wife, please feel free to give us a call at 206-203-5613.

When it comes to shows about Geeks and Wives, where else can you go to get your fix? Well this week we have a fresh serving of geekery and wifery for your consumption. We've been busy since we last talked, and we barely fit the show into our allotted time slot. In fact we may have gone a bit over... We discuss our Memorial Day weekend camping excursion, Holly's High School graduation, and lots and lots of off-track rambling. Call in with your questions or comments to 206-203-5613. The music this week is the song "Your Love Is" by Paul and Storm. You can find more of their music at http://www.paulandstorm.com.

Our lives are so exciting that we are actually running out of time to tell all our stories without even doing our regular segments as filler! Since we last recorded a show, we've had a podcaster meetup at our house, celebrated Mother's Day, found fun way to track work around the house, went to a concert, had a "fun" experience with our car, and even have time to recommend a game, a movie, and provide the opportunity to win cash prizes! If you want to hear Barely cussing, listen to Kevin having a bit of fun at a listener's expense, and also hear us go off on a rant, you've found the right show. Call in with your questions or comments to 206-203-5613.
The music this week is the song "Opening Band" by Paul and Storm. You can find more of their music at http://www.paulandstorm.com. Podcasts mentioned (or voice mail callers) - The Big Show, Barely Podcasting, Redboy Podcast |

We have a special treat for you on this special episode of A Geek and
His Wife. First, you are getting a new episode sooner than normal.
Second, we have a guest on this show: Heather's aunt Sandy. Sandy is a
natural on the microphone, and she has lots of fun stories to tell. We
begin with a rundown of what we've been doing since Heather's relatives
got into town. After that, Heather and Kevin grill Sandy for juicy
details about her jobs as a freelance court reporter and a 911
operator. If you're intrigued, you have to listen to this show. Heck,
even if you aren't intrigued, go ahead and give it a listen. Call in
with your questions or comments to 206-203-5613.

It's been a long time, I hope you didn't miss us too much. On this show we talk about why we have not recorded a show in so long. Both Kevin and Heather have lots and lots of stories to tell, so make sure you listen to the whole show. We also have an exciting announcement about our next show. Aaron once again graces our microphone to bring you another fun filled episode of Geek Week. I like to think of these shows as an opportunity to discuss all sorts of things that interest myself and my guest host. As a result, we cover all sorts of fun topics including some movies we've watched recently, karaoke and guitar hero fun, the merits of hacking your iPod touch, where to get your music from online, and much more. Kevin and Aaron definitely disagree on a few of these topics, so you are in for a treat if you want to hear some good arguing. If you would like to add your own two cents, please feel free to give us a call at 206-203-5613. You can check out Aaron's show at http://www.bigshowradio.com.

We've got a brand new guest host for you this week: Redboy of the Redboy Podcast! He's not exactly a new podcaster as you find out in the show, but he is new to position of guest hosting on Geek Week. Matt shares lots of information with us including what got him started in podcasting, the origin of the name Redboy, and we also spend a good amount of time discussing the adoption of his daughter, Maggie, from China. To provide feedback to Geek Week and A Geek and His wife, give a call to 206-203-5613.

On this episode of An Accountant and His Live-In Girlfriend we discuss the latest in economic news. The Dow Jones and Nasdaq closed on a high note today, but this updward trend is not going to continue. We discuss the most recent news regarding the housing market, did the government overstep itself by allowing JPMorgan Chase buy out Bear Stearns, and how to tailor your investments to protect your finances during these difficult times. As always, Shaniqua interrupts me constantly and won't shut up about her new weave. However, she provides a good balance and keeps me from getting too far into my accountant's lingo so I think I'll keep her around.

It's been far too long since I've geeked out on games, so I had to call up Jeff and get him to do another Geek Week with me. We provide updates on what systems we game on, talk about what we are playing right now, and then dig into some juicy gaming news. We discuss what games are on the horizon that we are excited about and provide colored commentary on come very controversial issues including violence in video games and video game piracy. To provide feedback to Geek Week and A Geek and His wife, give a call to 206-203-5613.

Aye, here be the show you're looking for. We are recording a show on St Patrick's Day, and we both are drinking a beer out of a green bottle to celebrate ;-). This week we discuss our new carpet and furniture, the story of getting it all into our house, the fallout from Heather's call to action in the last show, our (Kevin's?) new MacBook, our Review of The Ark of Truth, and believe or not there's more! Question of the weeks: Disneyland or Six Flags? Call in with your questions or comments to 206-203-5613.

It's heavy, like neutronium heavy. In fact, if you do not know what neutronium is, maybe you should not listen to this episode... Sorry, I cannot help myself, when I start talking to a fellow Geek I just start rambling on about all things geeky. So, if you love geekery, you will love this episode. Jason Tucker is my fellow Geek and Co-host of this episode, check him out at http://www.tuckertales.com. To provide feedback to Geek Week and A Geek and His wife, give a call to 206-203-5613.

We tried to record a show earlier than this, really we did. It has been another 2 weeks, and we have lots to talk about. I think this may be our longest show ever (we creep into Bigshow territory). We talk about our experiences at the Renaissance Festival, our bedroom remodeling, Twitter, Knight Rider, and more.
Call in with your questions or comments to 206-203-5613. Question of the Weeks: Do you gamble? |
Sat, 16 February 2008
We have been busy, cut us some slack! On this post Valentine's Day episode we discuss a full range of topics. We talk about what TV Shows and Movies we have been watching, Kevin's gaming and new motorcycle, and much more. Kevin had a little bit to drink before this episode, so he interrupts Heather a bit more than usual, sorry about that... Call in with your questions or comments to 206-203-5613. Question of the Weeks: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? |

Ah, our little show is growing up and drinking now. It has been a few weeks and we are not lacking when it comes to stories. The last few weeks have had their ups, downs, and downright oddities. I think I have spoken to more police in the past week than I have in my entire life... Heather says that she is spunky at the beginning of this show, be sure to listen until the end to make sure she delivers ;-) Call in with your questions or comments to 206-203-5613.
